actually three unity candles at the ceremony. The two thin tapered candles
stand for two individuals who will unite in matrimony. Also a large pillar
candle will be lit which signifies the joining of the two individuals as one.
Depending on individual taste and preferences the couple will have a special
candle dish or holder which will hold all three unity candles. Regardless of
the shape or size of the unity candles the most important feature is what it
stands for, the unity of two people as one.
